Irving is a superstar and Dame isnt Jayson Tatum makes Bleacher Reports Taylor Rooks adm

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals two months ago, which would have been their final game of the regular season. At the age of 24, Jayson Tatum, a star player for the Celtics, would accomplish a lot by reaching his first finals appearance. But as he revealed to Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, it was tough for him to pass up such a great chance. In the interview, he and Rooks expressed rather divisive opinions about Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard, two of the NBA’s top superstars. Rooks was spotted making misleading statements throughout the interview because Tatum wanted to know why Rooks did not perceive Lillard as a superstar like Irving.

The debate about whether Jayson Tatum, the outstanding forward for the Boston Celtics, was one of the top ten NBA players lasted for a while. The native of St. Louis was deemed to be among or just outside the top 15 players in the league, just outside that high framework. However, opinions about where the former Duke great should be rated started to shift when he assisted in leading his Celtics to within two games of an NBA championship in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Now that he has established himself as a superstar, he brought in the rather controversial take of which superstar is better, Kyrie Irving or Damian Lillard.

Jayson Tatum- The next face of NBA?

Jayson Tatum is the best player on the Celtics in which he is big, athletic and can handle, score, and pass. Tatum seems to have been designed by someone looking to produce a perfectly neutral, useful basketball star, an uninteresting assemblage of average skills, all working toward victory, as opposed to Stephen Curry, who changed the perception of what works on a basketball court forever. He is without a doubt everything your franchise hopes for in a player when it picks them. He has improved in clutch situations, has a great handling, can shoot the 3, hit the mid-range, and can go all the way to the hoop and dunk on you.

Jayson Tatum, an All-Star for the Boston Celtics, may not have had a particularly good first half of the 2021–22 NBA season, but in the second half of the campaign, he came into his own, evolving from a border All–NBA player to a legitimate contender for the 2022 Most Valuable Player award. On his way to averaging 26.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 4.4 steals per game while shooting 45.3% overall, 35.3% from 3-point range, and 85.3% from the charity line, Tatum would finish the season with three Player of the Week accolades from the league. Tatum was undoubtedly Boston’s finest player as he led his team to the NBA Finals, where they were defeated by the Warriors 4-2.

Taylor Rooks and Tatum weighed in on Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard

When asked about the comparison between Kyrie Irving and Damian Lillard in a recent interview with Taylor Rooks, Boston’s three-time All-Star plainly gave the message that the latter still lacked the victories to put himself in that category. In addition to not being a superstar, Lillard is not comparable to Irving. She said: “Damian has all of the superstar qualities but it’s hard to put him in this moment because of..” and she could not answer the rest specifically. This might be related to Dame’s well-deserved selection over Kyrie in the NBA’s 75th anniversary team, but it also appears to be a jab at Portland for signing him to that hefty two-year, $123 million contract extension.

The All Star for the Celtics himself found it difficult to trust what Rooks had just told him. That he didn’t argue more than he did honestly surprised everyone quite a bit. While they both play in separate conferences and Jayson Tatum is coming off his first ever impressive run, he has the opportunity of saying what he just did. Many superstars have regretted underestimating Dame, especially in the playoffs. Given this backdrop, it is preferable to acknowledge Tatum, the upcoming superstar, alongside Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and their greatness.
